Third Round of India Lesotho Joint Bilateral Commission of Cooperation, New Delhi (December 01, 2017)

  • The Third Meeting of the India-Lesotho Joint Commission of Cooperation was held on December 01, 2017 at Jawaharlal Nehru Bhavan, Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi. The Indian delegation was led by Dr. Neena Malhotra, JS(E&SA), Ministry of External Affairs and Lesotho delegation was led by H.E. Nkopane Monyane, Principal Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Relations, Kingdom of Lesotho. During the JBCC, the two sides reviewed the entire gamut of bilateral relations and discussed regional and multilateral issues
  • Lesotho side graciously thanked India for the gift of 500 MT of Rice which was handed over to the Government of Lesotho on November 29, 2018 and also expressed gratitude for the establishment of IT center by India which was recently inaugurated on November 29,2017.
  • Both sides agreed to the need for urgent reforms in the UN and called for an early completion of Comprehensive Convention on International Terrorism (CCIT). Indian side thanked Lesotho for their continued support to India’s candidature to the Permanent membership in an expanded UNSC.
  • Talks were held in a warm and cordial atmosphere, reflecting the close and friendly relations existing between India and Lesotho.
