Visit of Minister for Foreign Affairs and Communities of Sao Tome and Principe (September 07 - 08, 2018)

H.E. Mr. Urbinho Botelho, Minister for Foreign Affairs and Communities of the Democratic Republic of Sao Tome and Principe visited New Delhi during 7-8 September 2018.

Bilateral delegation-level talks were held between Foreign Minister Botelho and the External Affairs Minister on 7th September 2018 where both sides discussed matters of mutual interest.

This was followed by the signing of the Framework Agreement on Co-operation in the Exploration and Uses of Space for Peaceful Purposes between India and Sao Tome & Principe.

India and Sao Tome & Principe (STP) enjoy warm and friendly relations. Minister of State for External Affairs, Shri M.J. Akbar visited Sao Tome and Principe in March 2018. The visit by Foreign Minister Botelho will further contribute towards enhancing bilateral ties.

India has reiterated its continued support to Sao Tome and Principe through development cooperation, trade and investment, technical cooperation and capacity building to facilitate rapid social and economic development of its people.

The two sides agreed to identify priority projects in the areas of mutual cooperation to be undertaken with the support of Government of India’s concessional lines of credit.
