On the occasion of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) a function was organized in the Embassy auditorium on 31st August 2016 to celebrate 141st Birth Anniversary of Sardar Patel in which members of the Mission, Indian community and media participated. Pledge to uphold national unity was administered by Ms. Neeta Bhushan, Charge d’ Affaires to the Embassy personnel. She spoke about the contribution of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the ‘Iron Man of India’, his extraordinary efforts in the integration of princely states in India and his life, achievements and message.
The High Commission of India, Abuja celebrated 141st Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel at its premises on 31 October, 2016. In the morning AHC administered 'Ekta' (unity) pledge to officials of the High Commission. In the afternoon the programme began with a speech by Acting High Commissioner, Shri Kaisar Alam. Wherein touched upon Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s contribution for India’s freedom movement and instrumental in uniting around 560 princely states into the Indian nation. The event saw participation of Indian Community members.
The week long celebrations of the 141st Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel organized by the Mission began with photographic exhibition and screening of documentary on October 29, 2016. The formal celebration on 31st October bean with the administering of National Unity “Rashtriya Ekta” pledge to all the Indian officials working in the Mission. The Mission celebrated the 141st Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on 31st October, 2016 wherein a photo exhibition was mounted which depicted Sardar Patel’s life and show cased the important role he played in India’s struggle for freedom and in nation-building in the early years of India’s independence. Later, the feature film “Sardar” chronicling the life and times of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was screened at the auditorium of the Embassy.The function was attended by around 100 people which included members of the Indian community in Beijing, Indian students pursuing courses in various universities in Beijing and the members of the Mission.
The documentary film - “Man of Silence – Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel” was telecast by Serbian national broadcaster on its channel RTS on 31 Oct, 2016. Lectures and screening of documentary film and Biopic on Sardar Patel were conducted by Prof. Aleksandar Petrovic at the Faculty of Philology, University of Belgrade as part of course on “Cultural History of India” and also at University of Novi Sad where Hindi Chair has recently been established.

A screening of documentary “Man of Silence – Sardar Ballabhbhai Patel” was also organised on the occasion.
A get-together was organised in the Embassy on the evening of Saturday – 5 November, 2016, to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Patel. In commemoration of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel 141st birth anniversary and his achievements, Embassy of India, Kabul celebrated Rashtriya Ekta Divas on 3rd November 2016. The program was attended by more than 20 local Indians working in Kabul. Due to prevailing security situation in Kabul, the program was postponed from the actual birth date of 31st October 2016 to 3rd November 2016.

The Indian Cultural Centre, High Commission of India celebrated the 141st Birth Anniversary of SardarVallabhbhai Patel as Rashtriya Ekta Diwas on 31st October, 2016. The programme was attended by the officials of Indian High Commission, their family members, Academics and the High Commisioner Shri Akhilesh Mishra, provided over the function. He spoke about the contribution of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel inbringing the farmers into Indian freedom movement, and highlighted his extraordinary organizational skills and decisive leadership, and selfless devotion to the service of the nation.Mr. Manoj Nair and Mr. D. They called upon to move forward in the task of nation making, by upholding the values of secularism and serving the country. A Documentary titled “Man of Silence – Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel” was also screened during the celebrations.
High Commission of India, Maputo celebrated the 141st birth anniversary of Sardar Patel on 01 November 2016. Documentary Film ‘A man of silence – Sardar Vallbhabhai Patel’ was screened at ‘Teatre Gugnu’, Maputo to an audience of about 600 Indian nationals, OCIs and local Mozambicans. The screening of the documentary was followed by a light musical performance by an ICCR-sponsored cultural troupe.
141st birth anniversary of Sardar Patel was celebrated in Melbourne on 31 October. A number of representatives from Indian Associations in Melbourne participated in the function. In her address to the gathering, Consul General Manika Jain lauded the role played by Sardar Patel in the freedom struggle of India & she also highlighted achievement of ‘Iron Man of India” for integrating princely states into one united India.

The High Commission of India in Nairobi celebrated the 141st birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and Rashtriya Ekta Diwas on Monday, 31 October 2016 at the Apa Pant Auditorium of the High Commission of India, Nairobi.
The event began with the lighting of the lamp and offering of floral tributes to the portrait of Sardar Patel.

A function was organized at the Indian Embassy on 6th November 2016, to commemorate the 141st Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The event was held in partnership with the Indian Gujarati Cultural Association and GOPIO France Metropole. The High Commission of India, Victoria (Seychelles) celebrated the 141st birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on 12 November 2016. About 50 members of the Indian community in Seychelles participated in the event. In his remarks, Shri Anindya Banerjee, Acting High Commissioner spoke about the important role played by Sardar Patel as an extraordinary leader, freedom fighter and as an architect of integration of India. An event to commemorate 141st birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, with screening of documentary titled "Man of Silence - Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel", was held in the Chancery yesterday, 31st October, 2016 attended by 40 people from the Indian Diaspora, Bulgarian Indologists and Embassy personnel.
The celebrations began with an essay competition for the children of Indian Community on October 31, 2016. A spectacle on biography of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel was conducted on 05 November, 2016 with a large participation form the Indian Community and some locals residing in Sudan. Floral tributes were paid by the Ambassador and prominent Indian Communiyt members. In his speech, Ambassador reiterated gratitude that India owes to the sterling efforts of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel towards unification of the republic of India, and urged the school students to imbibe the unitary values that he advocated, a much requirement in today’s world. A documentary film on the life of Sardar Patel titled ‘A Man of Silence – Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel’ & a photo exhibition depicting the various phases of life of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel was also organised.
