‘Prarambh’ - Startup India International Summit is being organized by Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) in virtual mode on January 15-16, 2021. The Summit celebrates 5 years of launch of Startup India initiative which has played a pivotal role in spurring the spirit of entrepreneurship in every corner of the country. Hon’ble Commerce and Industry Minister will inaugurate the Summit on January 15 and Hon’ble Prime Minister will grace the Grand Plenary (concluding session) of the Summit on January 16.
Prarambh is expected to bring together top policy makers, industry, academia, investors, startups and all stakeholders from across the globe. In addition to deliberating on good practices from best of the ecosystems across the world, the sessions of the Summit are designed to showcase the spread and depth of entrepreneurship based on innovation in India.The objective is to focus attention of global capital for startups in India, mobilize domestic capital, provide opportunities for accessing international markets to our startups and evolve enabling policy provisions.
The first day of the Summit has been devoted to host BIMSTEC Startup Conclave. This was one of the announcements made by Hon’ble Prime Minister at the 4th BIMSTEC Summit in Kathmandu in August 2018 with the objective to enhance connectivity among the entrepreneurs of the region. Ministers and Senior Officials from Bangladesh, Bhutan, Myanmar, Nepal and Sri Lanka, Executive Director of National Innovation Agency of Thailand and the Secretary General of BIMSTEC have confirmed their participation in the Summit.
There will be Panel Discussions with participation of Startups and other stakeholders on various themes stretched over the two days of the Summit. In the BIMSTEC Startup Conclave, there will be seven Panel Discussions on the themes of Sharing Best Practices, Knowledge Exchange Workshop, Multilateral Incubator Programmes and Promoting Social Innovation. Over 100 Startups from BIMSTEC countries will participate in the Virtual Startup Showcase. Selected Start-ups, including from the BIMSTEC countries, will have the opportunity to interact with Hon’ble Prime Minister at the Grand Plenary session.
The virtual summit will bring together over 200 marquee speakers from around the world and India, facilitate discussions on technologies, innovation, robust policies, and initiatives, enable government and international organisations to share their views and set on fire the minds of young Indian entrepreneurs, driving them to solve the problems and challenges that matter, not just for India but also for the entire world.
