CPV Division of MEA has two parts, one headed by Joint Secretary (PSP &CPO) and the other by Joint Secretary(CPV), and handles all policy matters related to:

1. Issuance of Diplomatic & Official Passports
2. Issuance of Indian Visas at our Missions abroad for foreign nationalss
3. Legalisation/Attestation of documents, registration of births & deaths abroad
4. Extradition Matters
5. Consular Grievances
6. Processing of Visa requests from foreign Missions & Posts based in New Delhi for their Diplomats & Non-diplomatic staff
